Following pregnancies, loss of weight or related to the natural ageing process the breast also loses elasticity and firmness. The breast loses volume and often an empty layer of skin remains. In these cases the lift of the breast, so called matopexy, is the suitable technique to achieve an aesthetically pleasing result.
Mastopexy can also be combined with the insertion of an implant to add volume, this is called augmentation matopexy. The scars run circularly around the nipple, vertically from it to the mammary fold and along the mammary fold itself. So called "scar saving" techniques are also possible (vertical mammaplasty). So the nipple is shifted to the top. Initially, the scars are very apparent, however they lose reddening within the first 3 months after the operation and become flatter. Wearing a support bra day and night is advisable after the operation in order to take weight off the scars.
A breast lift can be either done as a single procedure or combined with other cosmetic operations. If you want more information on this procedure please call us or contact us by e-mail.
